Do you want to bring a little whimsy and nostalgia to your home this spring. Join us and learn the techniques involved in sewing up a beginner sized jelly roll rug. You’ll learn how to take a prepackaged pre-cut jelly roll set and transform it into a beautiful coiled rug using a simple zig zag. This class will be filled with tips on colour placement, managing the bulk and how to use handy helpful tools like the Clover Jelly Roll guide. It’s the perfect class for adding a cozy personal touch to your home or cottage. 

This class has no prerequisites!! Knowing the very basics of how a sewing machine works would be a benefit, but it’s not necessary. 

You will learn how to:

• Thread our classroom machines

• Work with jelly roll strips and batting strips

• Create a continuous long piece

• Use the zig zag stitch effectively

• Coil and shape your rug

You will need:

• A pre-cut jelly roll package with 42 strips of fabric

• Coordinating thread 1000m spool - these rugs take a lot of thread

  • can be cotton or polyester

We will provide:

• The use of a sewing machine and all the tools necessary for a successful project. 

• 50 yard package of precut 2.5" batting strips

• A Clover Jelly Roll Fabric Tube Maker for you to keep for future projects
